Privacy Policy

LinkIT Travel handles personal information in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.

1. What we collect

• Account details: name, email, phone number, country, and preferred currency.
• Saved traveler profiles (optional): full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, email and phone, so you don't have to retype them for future bookings.
• Booking/traveler details: for each person on a booking: full name, and where relevant to what you're booking, date of birth, nationality, and passport number. Flight bookings additionally require each passenger's title and gender, because our flight supplier's booking system requires this.
• Payment information: collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; we keep only a reference to the transaction and the amount charged.
• Account and booking activity: we keep an internal record of actions like cancellations and refund requests against your bookings, for accountability and security.

2. How we use it

• To create and manage your account, and process your bookings and payments.
• To pass necessary booking/traveler details to Hotelbeds or Duffel so they can fulfil a hotel or flight booking you've made.
• To send you transactional emails: booking confirmations, cancellations, refund updates, and account emails like password resets.
• To respond to support requests and investigate account or booking issues.
• To meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We share personal information with the following third parties, only as needed to provide our service:

• Stripe: payment processing.
• Hotelbeds: to book and manage hotel reservations you make.
• Duffel: to book and manage flight reservations you make.
• Resend: to deliver transactional emails on our behalf.

Each of these providers processes your information under its own privacy policy, and some may store or process your data in a different country from the one you're in. We don't sell your personal information to anyone, and we don't currently use third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the site.

4. Security

Your password is stored in hashed form, never as plain text. Your login session is kept in your browser and used to authenticate your requests to our systems. We restrict access to personal information to what's needed to operate the service.

5. Data retention

We keep booking and payment records for as long as needed to meet our tax and legal obligations. Gift voucher records are kept for the voucher's five-year validity period plus a reasonable period after. Saved traveler profiles are kept until you remove them or close your account.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, and in some cases ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below to make a request or to raise a privacy concern.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits. We don't currently use cookies or local storage for advertising or cross-site tracking.

8. Children

LinkIT Travel is not directed at children, and accounts must be created by an adult. Travelers of any age can be included on a booking made by an adult account holder.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent version.
