Cancellation Policy

Last updated 30 September 2026.

Cancelling a booking and getting a refund are two separate steps on LinkIT Travel. Cancelling stops a booking from going ahead; it doesn't by itself return any money. To get money back, you need to submit a refund request.

1. Cancelling a booking

You can cancel a booking from your account while it's pending, deposit-paid, or confirmed. If your booking includes a live hotel (Hotelbeds) or flight (Duffel) reservation, we cancel that reservation with the supplier first. If the supplier can't be cancelled for some reason, we won't mark your booking cancelled on our side. You'll be asked to contact support instead, so our records and the supplier's never disagree about whether your booking is still active.

2. Requesting a refund

You can request a refund for any amount up to what you've actually paid on a booking, with a reason. Every refund request is reviewed individually by LinkIT Travel. We don't currently apply an automatic cutoff (like "refundable up to 7 days before travel"), because how much of your payment can genuinely be returned often depends on what you booked:

  • Tours, activities, treks and packages we sell directly: reviewed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account how close to the travel date the request is made.
  • Hotel bookings: refundability depends on the specific rate you booked through Hotelbeds. Some rates are fully refundable, others are non-refundable once confirmed; that condition is set by the supplier, not by us, and we can only refund what we're able to recover from them.
  • Flight bookings: refundability depends on the fare you booked through Duffel, which is set by the operating airline. Many discount fares are non-refundable or carry a change/cancellation fee.

A pending refund request stays visible on your booking until it's approved, rejected, or you're contacted for more information.

3. Deposit bookings

For tours, activities, treks and packages, if you paid a deposit (a fixed amount specific to that listing) rather than the full price, only the deposit amount you've actually paid can be refunded. You won't be charged the remaining balance if you cancel before paying it.

4. Gift vouchers used on a booking

If a booking paid for (in full or in part) with a gift voucher is fully refunded, the voucher amount that was used is restored to the voucher for future use. If only part of the booking is refunded, the voucher amount used is not restored; it stays applied to that booking.

5. If we can't confirm your booking

If you've paid but we're unable to confirm your booking with Hotelbeds or Duffel, we automatically refund you in full. You don't need to submit a refund request in that case.

6. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are returned to the payment method used at checkout via Stripe. Stripe typically shows the refund on your statement within 5–10 business days, though this depends on your bank or card issuer.

7. Your consumer rights

This policy doesn't limit any right or remedy you have under the law that applies to you that can't lawfully be excluded, for example where a service isn't provided with due care and skill.
